Welcome to the website of the Martin Okonji Medical Humanities Research Group. We are interested in the anthropology, sociology and history of African Biosciences. Our programme of research connects recent currents in Africanist anthropology and historiography with work in the philosophy of knowledge and social theory, and applies them to a theme of vital importance: the making and uses of scientific knowledge.
As well as providing information about our group's research, we hope this website will act as a portal for information and discussion about meanings of, and experiences with, medical research in Africa. We welcome everyone interested in these issues and we will regularly use this website to start debates as well as share publications, conferences, events, vacancies etc...
Explore the website to find out about our members and their research interests, our projects, partners, funding and publications, or contribute to discussions about medical research in our forum.
